This course highlights the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) Standards 10 and 11 on Cardiovascular Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease Risk Management. Dr. Diana Isaacs kicks off the content by emphasizing the importance of protecting kidney function alongside reducing cardiovascular risk. She discusses the identification and prevention of renal and cardiovascular disease through pharmacologic and lifestyle interventions, including a detailed review of therapies for hyperlipidemia and hypertension. Dr. Isaacs also reviews the shared complications and risk factors of ASCVD and CKD, with a focus on clinical strategies to reduce disease progression. Learners will explore evidence-based pharmacologic therapies, treatment goals, and practical approaches to support lifestyle change through person-centered care.
